Padma shares teachings, wisdom, laughter and light from her 30 years of direct tutelage with a Himalayan Meditation Master. Discover what pure, clear meditation really is! Learn texts from the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and Sanskrit mantras, and feel true inner delight!
WORKSHOP CONTENTS IN BRIEF:
The afternoon will start with a short silent meditation. Padma will give a lesson on how to sit and what meditation is. She’ll explain the core steps in establishing a good practice and clearly guide us through classical, time-proven techniques. We’ll do soothing, foundational breathing meditations and enjoy some focusing sound-vibration meditation.
After a short break, Padma will offer a discourse of the key essentials of meditation philosophy. This includes a look at the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and what the original Sanskrit texts have to say about mind-management and meditation.
Padma will give a second discourse deepening the topic of discerning and refining our awareness.
There’ll be an open discussion and plenty of time for questions and discussion. We’ll divide up and participate in a small group exercises to better explore and express our own experiences. In conclusion, there will be a deep relaxation lying-down meditation.
The afternoon will start with gentle yoga that is great for helping our meditation seat.
Then Padma will reveal more about some key sutras in the Yoga Sutras that describe both practice and philosophy, plus take a look at some main verses in the Bhagavad Gita that have to do with meditation and how to best act in the world with efficiency and power, while remaining always at ease.
Padma will share her stories of having lived and experienced these practices for years!
After a break, you’ll learn some basics of the magical Sanskrit language and have a chance to chant some key mantras and sutras. You’ll learn how to write some of these in the Deyvnagri script!
There will be silent and guided meditations. The workshop will conclude with a meditation directing the mind’s attention towards inner awareness and peace.
By the end of the afternoon, you’ll feel bright, clear and free!
